Why is the conference priced the way it is?

Housing: We have the hotel to ourselves this year! We chose a venue for maximum privacy with some of the lowest room rates in Oakland. Rooms cost $65/night for rooms with 1 king bed (1-2 people), $75/night for rooms with 2 queen beds (2-4 people); and a limited number of 2-room, 2 king bed suites (4 people maximum) are available for $85/night. Please consult our hotel and travel page for more information. Only 75 rooms are available, so reserve now for your best chance!
How will I know that my space is reserved?
You'll get e-mail confirmation when you register, and additional e-mail confirmation when you pay. If you don't hear from us, that means that we didn't receive your payment.
Is there Financial Assistance available to help me attend?
Absolutely! Please read about financial Assistance and scholarships available. FA is competitive to those who meet qualifications, so apply before the initial April 16 deadline for your best chances. Additionally, there are 12 scholarships available to help bring individuals in underrepresented groups to NOLOSE.
NOLOSE is an amazing organization with a history of extending aid to many folks. For the 2008 conference, we were able to award the full amount of aid to everyone who applied, thanks to the dedicated efforts of fundraising volunteers. This is a unique feat for a non-profit organization our size. Unfortunately, we have a smaller pot of FA funds this year; and providing FA to a majority of our attendees isn't a sustainable model.
