This page will likely change and grow, but for now we just wanted to post information on upcoming memorials and funerals for our friend, Heather MacAllister. Heather died on February 13, 2007, after a 3-year battle with ovarian cancer.
In lieu of flowers: Heather requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Heather's trust c/o Carole Cullum. Heather wishes to start a fund to help fat college students afford fabulous fashions! Please make checks out to "Cullum Law Trust - MacAllister Scholarship Account MacAllister" and mail to: Cullum Law Offices, 1390 Market St., Suite 818, San Francisco, CA 94102.
Heather's 2006 NOLOSE Keynote Address is now online.

Heather requested a formal Catholic funeral, and then a wake to follow at her home.
The priest for the parrish will officiate the Catholic funeral, and Terri Treat, a priestess at the local women's temple (and the woman whom Heather referred to as one of her spiritual guides -- the other being Lea Brown) will officiate the wake, at Heather's request.
If anyone would like to fly in and needs housing, contact Stacy Bias at: (800) 860-8037.
boston: feb. 18
Boston fatties are invited to a wake for Heather MacAllister of Big Burlesque and the Fat-Bottom Revue, on Sunday, February 18, at 6 p.m. at Doyle's Cafe in Jamaica Plain (3484 Washington Street, not far from the Green Street or Forest Hills T stations). We've got a semi-private room in the back. Get dinner, watch a slide show, drink up, and maybe listen to a bagpiper (we're working on it). We may even get Filling the Stage to run their crowd-pleasin' burlesque rendition of Fat-Bottom Girls, in honor of the fattest-bottomest girl of them all. Donations will be accepted for NOLOSE.
Please RSVP by Saturday morning to firstname.lastname@example.org. All fatties, friends of fatties, and loved ones are welcome.

The theater building is behind the main house, and is wheelchair-accessible*.
We will be hosting a memorial service in honor of Heather on February 25, 2007 beginning at 2pm. The service will be followed by a community remembering/wake at 3pm with refreshments. All are welcome to attend as we honor her memory and share stories. We especially encourage people to bring photos to display. Additionally, those who can are welcome to bring a dish to share for the gathering. There will be a collection for those who can help cover expenses.
If anyone is coming into town for this and needs a place to stay--or for further information--please contact Eric at 313.980.0198, stashulah78 at yahoo.com.
*As of 2/23: we have just discovered that the theater's wheelchair-accessible bathroom is unfortunately not in service. The bathroom that is in service is in an attached, non-accessible building. Volunteers will be available to assist with physical transport, but we understand that this is not ideal.
new york city: feb. 25
A service will be held in honor of Heather MacAllister on February 25, 2007 at 2 PM, All Saints Church located at 230 E. 60th street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Manhattan. A potluck reception will immediately follow in the church basement.
The church is wheel-chair accessible through a lift or there are 7 steps into the church. The kitchen where the reception will be held has a chair that can carry one person down but it is unknown how much weight it can hold. Wheelchairs will need to be carried down the stairs. Volunteers will be available to help with accessibility.
All are welcome to bring photos to share!
The service is open to the public, however we ask that you RSVP so that we may obtain a head count. Email Bevin at bevgroovy at yahoo.com to RSVP.
Please also indicate if you can volunteer
(set-up, clean-up, accessibility) and/or bring any of the following
We will collect donations at the service to provide for the cost of the church, organist and to provide a meal for the homeless in Heather's name.
