Hey, it's so good to see everyone here!
I notice most (all?) of the folks here so far are folks who went to the last conference. But the greater nolose community is vast. I want to find ways to encourage folks who weren't at the last conference, and who might not be on LJ, to come check out the boards.
So, if you have ideas, let me know. AND please talk the boards up among other queer fatties!

I didn't get a chance to make it to NoHo this year, and I was really disappointed. I really, really wanted to make it but finances and transportation kept me from finding a way there. I hope that I'll have my life in order enough to attend the next conference.
Has the location been set? I noticed a date on the board somewhere. NOLOSE means so much to me. So much so that I dream about fat queer conferences a lot.
I think one of the next conferences should be in Vermont, maybe at Goddard College? There are a bunch of Goddard alums that are involved with NOLOSE, including people who currently work there and have connections. They have the space, housing, etc. And they support what we are doing - they supported me when I was studying fat acceptance and thought it was a necessary issue to discuss!

You know, I too would love to see more chatting from those who have not attended the NOLOSE conferences. Personally, I have not attended one of the conferences as other aspects of my life seem to get in the way. There is a part of me that understands their reluctance however, it is a bit like being the new kid at school and wondering if you will have to sit at the lunch table alone. At least, that is how I felt/feel.
