Hi NOLOSE and welcome to the Fall! (Can you feel it in the air? If you¹re on
the east coast, you¹ve been enjoying way lower humidity, which has been
awesome, right?)

Here are a few announcements for you to chew on. Grab a cupcake and settle
in!

--Weighty Propositions:

--Spring 2010 Conference planning is underway. We are finalizing the venue,
and will soon be announcing the dates of our spring conference. We can't
wait! We miss you too much!

In the meantime, we have several key volunteer positions we need filled to
help pull things off and get the word out. Would you be willing to take on
any of the following? Please let us know! We also have numerous other
volunteer needs to get the conference off the ground. Contact
volunteer at nolose.org.

* Mailing party host! We're desperately seeking a host willing to throw a
little party where you and friends/volunteers assemble/send our conference
registration/mailing materials out the first week of October. Any takers?
We'll send you the materials, if you'll provide the brawn. The mailing party
is also just a good excuse to get some rad fatties (& co.) together for a
little fall pizza party. Let us know as soon as possible if you're game!

* Conference Card Maven. We are spread far and wide, and want to get our
cards off to as many people as possible in as many locations as possible.
Bookstores, clubs, libraries, colleges/universities, cafes! In order to do
this, we need someone willing to ship out several bundles to multiple
locations, in at least a few mailings (since new ones arise). Will you be
our central distributor of promotional materials?

* Registration guru. Someone to keep tabs on and oversee the online
registrations, mail-in registrations and coordinate other volunteers to
staff the registration table at the conference. It's a great way to get to
know other NOLOSE folks!

* Fundraising. Are you and friends willing to throw a little local event to
help raise funds for NOLOSE? Any fundraising to help keep our conference
costs down helps keep registration costs down, so more people can attend.
Help bring more rad fatties to NOLOSE, and have fun in the process! For more

--The NOLOSE Announce email will be going out monthly as a way for the board
to communicate with the community at large, but it is not just a board -->
community tool. Please feel free to use this tool to announce anything you
have going on that relates to NOLOSE or fat activism in general.
Announcements are due by the first of each month and the announcement email
will be sent out shortly thereafter. Send announcements to
robin at robinfradkin.com to be included.
